Billie Eilish Condemns ‘Misogynistic Weirdos’ for Body-Shaming Remarks: ‘I am Confident’
Billie Eilish is not holding back when it comes to responding to “women hating ass weirdos” who continuously comment on her body. The "Bad Guy" singer took to Instagram Stories to share her frustration, highlighting how she spent the first five years of her career being criticized for not being "feminine" enough.
The 21-year-old California native added that now that she feels comfortable wearing something even remotely feminine, she is being called a sellout and criticized for changing. Billie called the critics "true idiots" and exclaimed that she can be both feminine and boy-ish. She concluded the first of her Instagram Stories posts by saying, "LET WOMEN EXIST!"
Billie went on to post more Instagram Stories to make her point, stating that women are multifaceted and can be interested in multiple things. She also clarified that femininity doesn't equal weakness and that it's perfectly normal to want to express oneself differently at different times.
The Grammy Award winner rose to fame at the age of 15 with her song "Ocean Eyes" and has been criticized for her fashion choices ever since. Billie has become known for wearing oversized designer clothes while performing and walking the red carpet. However, she has no qualms about calling out haters for their negative comments on social media about her appearance and fashion choices.
Billie emphasized the importance of feeling good about oneself and doing what makes one feel comfortable. She even told British Vogue in May 2021 that "showing your body and showing your skin — or not — should not take any respect away from you."
