The luxury fashion house will offer a range of technically advanced ready-to-wear garments, accessories, equipment and apparel that combine cutting-edge materials with Balenciaga's signature style. For the first time, Balenciaga is introducing functional sports equipment such as snowboards, skis, helmets and poles suitable for downhill skiing, cross-country skiing or hiking.
On the apparel front, the collection features parkas and cargo pants crafted from technical ripstop with integrated powder skirts, ventilation systems, energy-saving pockets and ski pass badge holders, ensuring wearers remain comfortable and prepared on the slopes. In keeping with the house's classic silhouettes, the collection also includes matte quilted nylon jackets and vests, five-pocket ski pants in stretch nylon, and fitted fleece jackets.
Technical ready-to-wear items include blue stretch denim waterproof fleece-lined jeans. For added convenience, a ski pole attachable backpack and a ski shoulder bag are offered, both featuring lined, scratch-resistant goggle pockets and made from water-repellent recycled nylon.
Most pieces are available in classic black, gray or red, with thermal overlays in black, including hoodies and long-sleeve half-breasted tops in heavy fleece, fisherman's chunky knit wool tops and faux fur-style mink.
For accessories, padded gloves made of durable ripstop can be securely fastened to the sleeves of the jacket, and a ribbed knit hat with foldable sun lenses adds a touch of luxury on the slopes. Additionally, a selection of cold-weather-specific leggings, socks, face masks, gloves and scarves are available in various shapes and materials, all emblazoned with a sporty, reflective Balenciaga logo.
The collection is completed with two footwear options. The Alaska Boot reinterprets the typical Arctic shoe, giving it oversized proportions and a distinctive style. Meanwhile, the 3XL Ski Sneaker is a snow-friendly version of the original 3XL, designed to withstand harsh winter elements.
To celebrate the launch of the Balenciaga skiwear collection, the brand will launch a campaign. In the future, pop-up shops and window displays will also be set up.
