The Secret to Bachelorette Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko's Journey on 'DWTS': Therapy

The Bachelorette's Charity Lawson shared with Life & Style how she and her fiancé, Dotun Olubeko, are managing their relationship while she participates in Dancing With the Stars. She emphasized the importance of balance in both areas of her life.

"Dancing is a major focus for me at the moment, but so is my relationship. I'm finding those little moments to make him feel appreciated,” said the 27-year-old Charity to Life & Style after the November 14 episode of Dancing With the Stars. “And Dotun is reciprocating that support. We're in therapy and doing everything we can to keep our relationship strong."

Charity, who hails from Georgia, mentioned that other members from the Bachelor Nation who have also participated on the dance competition show gave her some tips. She explained, "A lot of the couples and girls warned me about what to expect. But your experience really depends on your intentions and where your relationship was before starting this. Luckily, ours was in a great spot and I didn’t want dancing to interfere with that."

Charity and Dotun, 31, are using their therapy sessions to remain proactive about potential future issues. She narrated how their therapist is proud of them because they aren't dealing with major problems per se, but rather taking steps to preempt any future issues.

The couple met and fell in love on season 20 of The Bachelorette earlier this year. They announced their engagement during the show’s finale in late August. Just a few days later, Charity started rehearsing for DWTS.

On season 32 of DWTS, Charity partners with Artem Chigvintsev. They are among the six pairs left hoping to take home the prestigious mirrorball prize. The remaining pairs are Xochitl Gomez with Val Chmerkovskiy, Alyson Hannigan with Sasha Farber, Harry Jowsey with Rylee Arnold, Ariana Madix with Pasha Pashkov, and Jason Mraz with Daniella Karagach. Charity's partner Artem bagged the champion title in season 29 when matched with Kaitlyn Bristowe of The Bachelorette.
