Nayte Olukoya from Bachelor Nation Criticizes Michelle Young's 'Baseless' $200,000 Donation Allegation

The Bachelorette's Nayte Olukoya has criticized his former fiancée, Michelle Young, for stating she donated the $200,000 they were given for a house downpayment, which he described as "garbage."

On the "Bachelor Rush Hour with Dave Neal" podcast episode aired on November 25, Nayte, 29, responded to Michelle's claim that she donated the money given by ABC. He provided more details about the contract they had signed with the broadcasting company.

Nayte maintains they never received the money, confessing that he didn't think their relationship would "last". He argues one couldn't feel upset about money they never possessed.

Nayte found Michelle's donation claims amusing. He explained the contract stipulated one rule for money disbursal. They could receive it only if it was used as a downpayment, without exceptions. If they broke up or didn’t use the money within the first year, neither received it.

The former couple from Bachelor Nation, who got engaged in season 18’s finale, announced their mutual decision to break up in June 2022. Nayte admitted the process was a "headache" and agreed with Michelle that the break up was difficult to process.

In July 2022, a month after their breakup, Michelle, 30, spoke about their $200,000 gift during the season 18 finale. She suggested donating it for a good cause or even building an organization for promoting change. She discussed her thoughts on the “The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast”, indicating that she would feel good about doing so.

Later, in September 2022, Nayte explained on “The Viall Files” podcast that he had broken up with Michelle over the phone. Describing their relationship as strenuous, he mentioned that there were many ups and downs and disagreements. However, he did not discuss the money issue then.

In December 2022, Michelle told Life & Style that she had healed from her breakup with Nayte. She discussed the importance of healing quickly, as external factors could easily sway one's emotions if not healed.

By October 2023, Michelle had moved on and made her relationship with Jack Leius public on Instagram.
