Interestingly, searches for 2000s chunky highlights have skyrocketed over 5,400 percent. However, this is not the only retro highlight expected to make an appearance this summer. Searches for calico hair have grown more than 6,500 percent, and interest in heavy highlights on dark hair and 90s blonde has also increased.

No part of the body is immune to these flashbacks. Searches for 90s nail art, Y2K duck nails and 90s French tip nails are all trending upward.

Many celebrities have given the bob cut a go this year. The bob has rapidly emerged as a common sight on the red-carpet this season, with the trend also gaining popularity domestically. Pinterest is observing substantial interest in styles such as the Italian bob and 90s layered bob; however, the razor cut bob has seen searches rise by 8,200 percent, securing its place atop the list.

Pinterest advises that summer is always an opportune time to try out braids, predicting a few specific styles, including baby braid, mermaid and angel braids, to trend this season.

Angel beauty, especially angel braids, seems to resonate with Pinterest users currently. We notice a growing trend of searches for dewy, iridescent makeup. Accompanying this trend are emerging favorites such as smokey silver eye makeup and doll eye makeup. We hypothesize this may be associated with Sabrina Carpenter's current signature look.

Relish the sweet life this summer with makeup looks inspired by Italy. According to Pinterest, searches for soft nude makeup and cherry red lipstick have soared, accompanied by a 920 percent surge in sultry makeup looks searches.

Our desire for skin looking like various food items has evolved into nail trends. Searches for diverse fruit-inspired manicures have increased, encompassing grapefruit nails, blueberry nail art, cute strawberry nails and berry nails.
