Adele Clarifies Rumors About Fillers: 'I Naturally Have Full Lips'
Rumours regarding Adele getting lip fillers were recently put to rest by the singer herself. The speculations started swirling when a picture went viral in 2022 showing the 35-year-old, known for her hit “Easy on Me”, looking upset during an NBA game.
During her “Weekends with Adele” residency concert in Las Vegas on February 17, she spoke out, saying, “I know it sounds crazy, but I really don’t like being famous, right?” A fan recorded and posted the genuine confession on TikTok. She also mentioned that she was at the basketball game with Rich Paul, who was busy socializing, which didn't bother her.
She pointed out that she was keeping to herself and amusing herself by looking for Michael Jordan. “So, the TV crew came over and asked me twice if they could film me and show me on the big screen,” the “Hello” singer revealed. “I said, ‘Please don’t. I just canceled my Las Vegas residency. I really don’t wanna be filmed.’”
Despite expressing her reluctance to be filmed, the crew ended up shooting her anyway, Adele said. The resulting photos ignited rumors of plastic surgery, which the singer completely denied. Reiterating her denial, she said, “I have naturally big lips … I don’t need filler. I looked like a different person because I was sulking.”
She further elaborated on why she was sulking: “These people disregarded my reluctance and filmed me anyway,” the “Rolling in the Deep” singer said. “I was just very annoyed because I asked not to be filmed. I guess it was my own fault for being there in the first place.”
Over the years, fans have witnessed Adele's dramatic transformation, especially her commendable weight loss journey. Though initially silent on her dietary changes, Adele later started discussing them openly.
In a conversation with Vogue in 2021, she revealed that her "Year of Anxiety", which occurred during her divorce from ex Simon Konecki, triggered a focus on fitness. Adele stated, “I realized that when I worked out, I felt no anxiety. It was never about losing weight, but about building emotional and mental strength.”
Her fitness regime started with workouts targeted at her back and stomach, gradually evolving into full-body exercises. As noted by the interviewer from Vogue: "[She was] tearing it up on the elliptical machine and skillfully used every weight machine."
