Adam Sandler Expresses Love for Wife Jackie on 20th Anniversary: ‘You Captured My Heart from Day One’
Adam Sandler marked his 20th wedding anniversary with wife Jackie Sandler on Thursday, June 22, and showed that he's a rare gem when it comes to love. The Happy Gilmore star, who is now 56 years old, took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of himself and Jackie on their wedding day and wrote a heartfelt message. "Happy 20th my sweet Jackie! Your ‘I do' was the best gift of my life. My heart has been yours since the first second I saw you and I love and appreciate your devoted soul more and more each day. Us. The kids. Lets keep going and going babe. Lots of love to give you. Always," wrote the actor.
After the post, several of the couple's celebrity friends commented on the post. Josh Gad wrote, "Happy anniversary you two beauties" while Jodie Turner-Smith posted, "🥹🥹🥹❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥." Meanwhile, Nick Swardson, who has worked with Adam in several films, couldn't resist taking a swipe at his friend, writing, "When you said ‘I saba doo' everyone wept congrats. Love you both. Jackie is amazing. You sometimes smell. Blessings."
The Sandler couple met on the set of the movie Big Daddy, which was released in 1999, and got engaged in 2002, and then got married less than a year later. They have two daughters, Sadie and Sunnie, who were born in 2006 and 2008 respectively. Over the years, Adam and Jackie have worked together on several films, including 50 First Dates and Grown Ups, while Adam has also played opposite leading ladies like Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Aniston in movies. However, Adam told W Magazine in January 2020 that he never feels jealous during romantic scenes: "I'm never excited for romantic scenes, but my wife loves the women I work with. She's always saying, "Come on, make sure you kiss the best you can."
In March of this year, when Adam received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, Jackie gave a speech in Washington D.C. that further emphasized why the couple is such a good fit. "I would like to celebrate the real Adam,” she told the crowd. “The Pepto Bismol-chugging … air conditioning-blasting … backyard-peeing … disrupter. And, yes, he’s just as funny in real life as he is in the movies … And he’s just as good in bed as you’ve all imagined for so long. Adam, whether you’re awake or not, it’s always fantastic."
