Adam Levine Confirms Comeback to ‘The Voice’ in Season 27 Following his 2019 Exit
The announcement of Adam Levine's return to The Voice for its 27th season in spring 2025 sent shockwaves among fans. This surprising news came in six years following his exit from the NBC singing contest.
In an Instagram post dated Wednesday, June 5th, Adam, aged 45, expressed his exhilaration. "I am making a comeback. I am brimming with excitement. I can hardly wait," he posted.
Adam expressed that he was rejuvenated. "I'm thoroughly rested and prepared for the challenge. I can hardly contain my excitement. It's going to be a fantastic season. I'm yearning for it. I'm thrilled to announce that Team Adam is back. I sympathize with the other teams. Let's get this going. I'm back. Hello, Voice Family!" he enthusiastically added.
His fellow judges on the show will include John Legend, Michael Bublé and country music sensation Kelsea Ballerini, who is making her debut on the judge's panel. This will be the 48-year-old contemporary crooner, Michael's first time occupying the iconic red seat in the forthcoming season 26.
John had been a part of the judging panel from seasons 16 to 22, and again in seasons 24 and 25, before taking a well-earned pause.
Adam, the lead singer of Maroon 5, was one of the original coaches on the show. He was joined by celebrities Blake Shelton, CeeLo Green, and Christina Aguilera when the show premiered in April 2011.
Adam's leave was announced after the conclusion of The Voice's 16th season in May 2019, despite him having committed to season 17. He was replaced by Gwen Stefani on the show.
Reflecting on his departure, he expressed, “I was astounded after the first day of shooting. There was a spark. Something remarkable occurred leading to an experience that has impacted my life profoundly," he ardently explained as he made his exit from the show. “Thank you, NBC, for having me over. I am truly privileged to have been part of something I’ll continually cherish for the rest of my life.”
Speaking to his followers, he said, "For me, it was the right time to move on", and emphasized, "Your support has meant the world”.
Whilst Blake, 47, frequently tasted victory with his team members attaining numerous wins, Team Adam did not manage to reach the finals in seasons 14, 15 and 16.
Adam and Blake were much loved for their interactions on the show. Departing from the show, Adam acknowledged, "Blake SHELTON. I tried, but couldn't hide my love for you. Our bond will always be memorable. Regardless of how this surreal journey plays out, I am merely glad that we got to experience it together."
Unfortunately, the duo won't get a chance to reunite on the show as Blake left The Voice at the end of its 23rd season in May 2023.
