2026 Grammy Nominations: Will Lady Gaga or Kendrick Lamar Take Home Album of the Year? | Vanity Fair
Nearly three months have passed since the Recording Academy released the Grammy nominations for 2026. Now music’s biggest night has arrived, and stars across Los Angeles are getting ready for what promises to be an unpredictable ceremony. At the 68th annual Grammy Awards, the competition for the top prizes is fierce, and so far it’s unclear who is most likely to take home the biggest haul of golden gramophone statuettes.
Leading the pack is Kendrick Lamar, who picked up nine Grammy nominations. Last year he walked away with record of the year and song of the year (which is awarded to a song’s writers) for the combative and irresistible hit “Not Like Us.” Now his album GNX is up for album of the year, and its smooth SZA collaboration “Luther” is up for both record and song of the year. His main competition for the biggest awards is Bad Bunny, whose Debí Tirar Más Fotos (“I Should Have Taken More Photos”) topped streaming charts, and Lady Gaga, whose song “Abracadabra” crowned critics’ year-end lists in 2025.
This year’s nominees for best new artist—Olivia Dean, Katseye, the Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young—will all be performing a medley, continuing a beloved tradition that began last year. But unlike in 2025, when eventual winner Chappell Roan (also a presenter tonight) was the artist to beat, it’s unclear who from this bunch of rising stars will walk away with the Grammy.
In addition to the segment from the best-new-artist crew, the ceremony will also see performances from Justin Bieber, whose album Swag got a nod for album of the year, and fellow nominees Gaga, Bruno Mars and Rosé, Clipse and Pharrell Williams, Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, the Creator, and Lukas Nelson.
The Grammys are airing at 8 p.m. and can be watched on CBS, the Recording Academy’s social channels, and an array of streaming platforms. Follow along with Vanity Fair as our critics and journalists watch the show, guiding viewers from the red carpet to the front on our live blog.
