Influencer, 33, woedend achtergelaten nadat ze uit de sportschool is gezet omdat ze 'te veel' huid liet zien - OK! Magazine
Fitness influencer Jessica Freitas, 33, was left shocked after being kicked out of her gym for 'showing too much skin' in her workout gear. The Brazilian beauty revealed that she was approached by a gym employee just minutes into her workout who criticised her sportswear as 'embarrassing' for being too revealing.
She expressed her frustration at not being given the opportunity to discuss the matter and believes she's been discriminated against. Jessica pointed out that there were 'other women in the gym dressed the same as me but weren't subjected to the same restrictions'. She felt constantly under scrutiny, saying it was like the workers were 'on the lookout for any little thing', making her feel 'watched and pressured'. She added: 'It's like they were waiting for me to do something that goes against the rules.'
Jessica insisted she wasn't filming or causing discomfort to other gym-goers at the time.
The influencer, who was working out in her home city of São Paulo, Brazil, described her outfit as tight pink shorts and a black sports top. She said: 'I wasn't naked or anything like that. I only went to train as I feel most comfortable. There were other girls there training in shorts and bra tops like me and they weren't told to leave', reports the Mirror.
The influencer took a bold stand against gym staff, branding them as 'people from the last century' and slamming them for being 'malicious, false moralists' In her defence, she likened the ordeal to the absurdity of ousting a woman from a beach due to bikini attire. Moreover, Freitas has been vocal about how the incident dented her reputation, asserting: 'This incident has damaged my image. It's not like I was looking to show off or provoke anyone.'
In an act of defiance on October 27, Freitas addressed her 180,000 Instagram followers sharing an image flaunting her figure in the debated outfit. She accompanied the picture with a fierce caption: 'Complain all you want, it doesn't pay my bills.'
Yet, she also revealed that after a discussion with the gym's management just yesterday, they've reached a peaceful resolution.
With the issue now settled, Freitas expressed her enthusiasm to 'happily return' to the gym for future workouts.
